Sunday Morning Stopover: Breakfast at Patrona Coastal Café

Before heading to Fort De Soto for a beach day Sunday, we made a quick breakfast stop at Patrona Coastal Café, a food-truck-meets-tiki-hut gem tucked along the mangrove-lined shore of Gandy Boulevard. Just a 20-minute drive from Harbour Island via the elevated Lee Roy Selmon Expressway, the café sits right beside The Getaway and offers postcard-perfect views of the water.

We shared a trio of breakfast tacos—each better than the last—and couldn’t resist the sticky buns, which were every bit as gooey and indulgent as they looked. My wife fueled up with a towering, sugary coffee creation that might keep her buzzing for days. The efficient POS system, cheerful staff, and upbeat coastal soundtrack made the experience easy and enjoyable.

The crowd was an entertaining mix of beach-bound tourists and locals easing into their Sunday recovery.

As Jimmy Buffett once said, “There’s a fine line between Saturday night and Sunday morning.” At Patrona, that line comes with a side of sunshine and cinnamon icing.

On this particular beautify October morning in Tampa Bay, we wore our One Particular Harbour Island Unisex Tee, in Heritage Navy.
