Saturday morning, we said goodbye to Franny, our first service dog-in-training, as she headed off to “freshman orientation” at Dogs Inc. She came to us as a one-year-old—just for ten short weeks—but somehow filled our home and our hearts like she’d always been part of the family.
Walking her around the streets of Harbour Island became our favorite part of every day. She greeted everyone with that big yellow-lab smile, practiced perfect sidewalk manners, and reminded us constantly that patience and consistency are love in action.
The mission of Dogs Inc. is simple but profound: to give people greater independence, safety, and confidence through expertly trained service dogs. Being part of the very beginning of that journey was humbling and unforgettable.
Franny taught us that raising a service dog isn’t just about training; it’s about trust, compassion, and believing in a future you may never personally see.

We’re so proud of our girl and grateful for the chance to help her take her first steps toward becoming someone’s hero.
