Intellectual Property

At Harbour + Beneficial, we believe Tampa’s past is more than just history—it’s a living, breathing part of our city’s identity. Our designs aim to capture the spirit of Harbour Island and the neighborhoods that surround it: the landmarks, local legends, throwback moments, and shared memories that shaped life on (and off) the island.

We create with deep respect for the people, places, and stories that define Tampa’s culture. That includes thoughtful research into public archives, visual references, and community lore—alongside conversations with those connected to the subjects we feature.

While we work hard to ensure all of our designs meet legal and ethical standards, we recognize that intellectual property can be complex—especially when it comes to older, lesser-known, or locally significant material. If a design raises questions, we take it seriously and commit to working quickly and respectfully to resolve any concerns.

What You Should Know About Our Process

  • We review designs carefully – Every product goes through an internal review process to assess copyright, trademark, and publicity rights before being offered for sale.
  • We prioritize respect over risk – If a design presents an unresolved conflict—or if we’re contacted by someone with a legitimate concern—we will either seek a resolution or remove the item altogether.
  • We believe in dialogue – Our goal is not to claim or co-opt anyone’s legacy, but to celebrate it. We’re open to collaboration, licensing conversations, or removal requests where appropriate.
