Mr. 33602 wandered off island today and into 33629 in the heart of South Tampa in search of Tampa’s best breakfast sandwich.

This New York favorite officially opened its doors in South Tampa on October 2, after a few months’ delay from its original January launch — and it was worth the wait.

We stopped in for a spicy sausage, egg & cheese on an egg bagel ($11.90). The first round packed a serious jalapeño punch, but by halving the kick on our return visit, we hit the perfect balance. This is where HH shines: hearty, flavorful bagel sandwiches with that signature heaping schmear. The bagels themselves are rich, chewy, and perfectly dense — a true nod to New York craftsmanship — while the meats and cheeses meld together like an early-morning symphony.

Inside, you’ll find 18 seats, with 4 more outdoors for cooler mornings. The friendly manager even checked in mid-meal — a personal touch that stood out. On our first visit, opening Sunday morning, we were met with a line out the door, but it moved smoothly as the staff worked through each order. By Monday morning, though, the crowds settled and we walked straight to the counter for round two.

Beyond the classics, HH offers a deep bagel lineup: plain, sesame, everything, jalapeño cheddar, Asiago cheese, egg, cinnamon raisin, blueberry, pumpernickel, and more. The menu also offers nearly 20 scheduled options as well as a build-your-own variant.

Pair your sandwich with fresh-brewed coffee, tea, or a bottled drink and you’ve got a breakfast worth the short drive.
